Description of Golebys Cottage
Pretty, detached yellow washed cottage in the centre of the village with attractively furnished character accommodation.
The village of Hickling is on the edge of Hickling Broad, which is the largest of the Broads and is popular for boating and windsurfing. The area is a haven for ornithologists, nature lovers and walkers, with beautiful countryside all around. Cyclists will love the quiet lanes, with a number of places offering cycle hire. Lovely sandy beaches can be found at Waxham and Sea Palling, which are just three miles away, and there is easy access to the whole of Norfolk's rich and diverse coastline. The village has two dog and family friendly pubs serving food and further facilities are a short drive away in Stalham.
Nestling in the heart of the village and set back from the lane, Goleby's Cottage is a cosy and comfortable detached holiday retreat with an enclosed peaceful garden. Notes: New for 2012: The Pleasure boat Pub has opened a tearoom and village shop selling newspapers, milk, bread, fresh dairy and meats, sweets, tinned items and toiletries after 10am. The Hickling Barn (community centre) offers regular rural cinema nights and activities for villagers and visitors. Short breaks must start on a Saturday. The weeks of 19th May and 2nd June are price band C. Christmas tree and decorations can be provided for bookings between 22nd December and January 5th.
